This assumes you do spend 12 years watching TV. I am willing to bet even my close friends do this. While I don’t watch TV nearly as much, I’m a victim in the video game category which I suppose is a solid chunk of that TV time.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Throw Away Your Television
I stand by the message of this song, but for modern era, it could be renamed “disconnect your satellite television service”. Because I think movies are OK. And watching movies on a laptop sucks, sorry.
Also: when seeing them live, Flea introduced the song by playing a something like 4-minute bass solo in the key and style of the song, and then it kicked it. Beautiful.
