The phrase “an authority on [artistic medium]”
Just an FYI, it’s bullshit. Art (music, film, literature) is subjective by nature and critiquing it with intended definition is inane.
Whatever you think is good, is good, to you. And that’s it. Nobody else.
The need for technology in a social environment is the lack of enjoyment of the present moment. Ever notice yourself constantly checking facebook? Or your phone, for text messages? It’s to fill an ever-needing weakness for someone to be there, giving you attention, making you feel more important than you feel yourself. This is a terrible weakness, that we created with the technological age.
Delete your facebook. Don’t bring your cellphone/smartphone everywhere. Don’t log onto the internet for a few days. Sit alone someplace, read a book, listen to music whilst not browsing the web or doing your homework. Turn off the television, and just sit outside. Forget about your favorite TV shows, and spend time with your favorite friends instead. Do that thing you keep forgetting to do because you “never have time”, but really just don’t allocate any of your wasted time at all.
